Social Care and Inclusion - Response Centre Consultation

Print

Overview of Consultation: Adult’s social services are working on changing and improving our services and how people get in touch with us. We support and advise vulnerable adults and older people. We plan to make social care services more modern and give people more choice and control over the care services they receive. One of our first tasks is to develop a response centre and a single phone number, linked to the corporate first stop shop. We want to consult widely on our plans for developing a response centre, and will be giving people a range of different ways they can get in touch with us and have their say over the next 3 months. This will include a postal questionnaire, a public meeting, workshops and an online survey.

How is this consultation being carried out? A consultation document has been sent to local residents asking them to respond using a prepaid postal questionnaire attached to the document. This will be supplemented by a public meeting being held on Wednesday 1 April 2009 at 6.30 pm in the Community Building, Walsall Wood JMI School, Brownhills Road, Walsall Wood. We are running an online survey for a 3 month period to get the views of the general public and this will be sent out to special interest groups to encourage them to comment. A presentation and focus groups discussion is being held with current service users and carers.
