 |
past | 28/02/2011 - 10/04/2011 |
| Walsall’s Library Service is undertaking a fundamental review to inform potentially wide ranging changes to the way in which the service is delivered. In the current and ongoing climate of austerity and reduced resources, allied with rapid technological and social change, the Library Service must examine its traditional models of delivery and find new, innovative, efficient and effective ways to meet the new and emerging needs of residents and communities for information, learning, leisure and regeneration. We are now undertaking a programme of consultation to better understand the current and future needs of our residents, what they value about the Library Service and what needs to change to make libraries fit for the future. This consultation is relevant to everyone, whether they use the Library or not. Findings from this research and other data will be collated and presented to Cabinet for consideration in June 2011. |

| National Highways & Transportation Public Satisfaction Survey |
 |
past | 11/06/2010 - 18/06/2010 |
| The public’s views on Highways and Transport services in Walsall will soon be compared with others across England and North Wales, thanks to the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction survey.
Walsall Council is one of 95 Local Authorities to voluntarily sign up to a standardised survey that will ask members of the public exactly the same questions, whether they live in Wiltshire, Worcestershire or Walsall.
The survey is the result of months of hard work between the National Highways & Transport Network (NHT) and a regional Highways Service Improvement Group. This independent public survey provides excellent value for money and enables Walsall to join with local authorities across the UK to identify areas of best practice and spot national, regional and local trends. This is not about producing a league table to champion one geographical area over another, it is about understanding customer views better and working together to deliver the best possible services.
